Britain says some of Manchester bomber's network potentially still at large

The row comes as British police stepped up their investigation into a suspected network behind Salman Abedi, a 22-year-old British-born man with Libyan parents who blew himself up on Monday night at the Manchester Arena indoor venue after a concert by United States of America singer Ariana Grande.

Now 11 people remain in police custody after a raid on an address in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester saw a 20-year-old and a 22-year-old detained on suspicion of terror offences.

British police also apprehended a 19-year-old man during a raid of the former home of the Salman Abedi, the bombing suspect.

Also on Sunday, an explosion was heard as police raided a house in the Moss Side area of the city.

It followed searches at a separate property in Cheetham Hill and an address in the Longsight area in south Manchester.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said that while the force could not make a "direct link" to the bombing on Monday in which 22 people died, it is "monitoring" the situation.
