Summerhays takes advantage of Dufner collapse at Memorial

Open champion and Barseback member Henrik Stenson birdied two of his last five holes to card a level-par 73 which was matched by defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick, while BMW PGA Championship victor Alex Noren struggled to a 75.

Summerhays carded 68 for 13-under 203, while Matt Kuchar shot 67 to move into second place on 10-under. He didn't make a birdie and shot 78.

A rock-solid par at the last kept him three clear of 2013 champion Kuchar, who closed out an outward 34 with back-to-back birdies and picked up four birdies in five holes from the 13th, although a blocked tee shot at the short 16th led to his only blemish of the round.

From 175 yards out, Dufner looked to improve upon the bogey from Thursday's round and did so in a big way, playing his shot off the slope to the back left of the pin and rolling it in for eagle.

Spieth dropped four positions following a mixed day, which included six birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey.

Comey OK'd to testify; House committee issues subpoenas
Both the House and Senate intelligence committees invited Cohen to "provide information and testimony". But the others are requests for three intelligence agencies and concern their Obama-era activities.

"I'll have to play some great golf but I'm driving the ball the best I ever have and there's still a lot of play to unfold", said Leishman.

Daniel Summerhays (69) is second at 9-under, Rickie Fowler (66) is 8-under, and Jordan Spieth (72), Justin Thomas (71) and Jamie Lovemark (69) are 6-under. "It was not a good situation, but I made the most of it I guess".

"I'm OK", Dufner said. That gave him 10 under and put him in the final group with Summerhays as he tries to end three years and 82 starts without a win.

He very quietly took only 130 shots over two days. "He wobbled from the get-go, squaring four straight bogeys on holes 2-5, three on failed scrambles and a 3-putt at the fifth from 12'10", before getting on the board with birdie-4 at seven from 5'0".

"The tournament is not over", Dufner said. Spieth, who had missed consecutive cuts before last week, made bogeys at 17 and 18 to finish his front nine, but responded in style. The two-time Masters champion fired a four-under 68, highlighted by a six-under 30 on his back nine.

Angela Merkel says Europe 'must take fate into its own hands'
Were Merkel to signal a German pivot away from the US , she would hardly choose a Bavarian beer party as the venue. Rapturous applause greeted her fiery calls for Europeans to fight for their own destiny.

"It was a good week for me going forward on this golf course", Dufner said.

Daniel Summerhays bogeyed his last hole and shot 69, leaving him five shots behind Dufner.

But he'll also be aware of just how treacherous Muirfield Village can be - as evidenced by Dufner's tough day.

"I consistently put myself in good spots around the greens and was able to roll a few in".

Johnson was the biggest name to miss the cut, joined by rising Spanish talent Jon Rahm, who bowed out early for just the second time since turning pro a year ago. There are four Ohio-born players in the field - Ryan Armour (76-76), Jim Herman (70-74), Jason Kokrak (73-67) and Kyle Reifers (70-80).

Youthful Man United side beats Palace 2-0 in last EPL game
The former England boss was, though, keen after the match to hail the club's "big achievement" in getting out of trouble. And not for its famous manager, whose first year at United would be widely viewed as a failure.
