Police identify mother, 2 daughters found dead at Ohio home

A Kent State University student was one of three people found dead at a home in southern Cuyahoga County.

Police originally stated that one of the victims was shot to death but amended the information shortly thereafter, according to WEWS.

The road was plunged into darkness as police sealed off the area and ordered residents to stay inside their homes for their own safety.

An Ohio woman and her two adult daughters were found dead in their home after a family friend picked the lock when they did not answer the door.

Authorities previously said the women died from gunshot wounds but after further investigation, one of the women died from a knife injury, the cause of death of the other two women is still unknown.

Cleveland19 reported Monday, citing police, that the mother and daughter were still alive Saturday afternoon and were killed sometime that evening.

The 911 call recordingindicates Taylor's boyfriend, Dale, went to the house and when he did not get an answer or hear dogs barking he became suspicious.

A motive remains unclear.

"Taylor was majoring in fashion design, while Kylie was involved in theater and was majoring in forensic science", the stepmother told WGHP-TV. She would have turned 19 on Sunday.

'They were great kids. and this totally, totally blind-sided us, ' Sonya Pifer said, fighting back tears.

Taylor was the mother of the Pifer girls, both of whom had been estranged from their biological father for at least a year. The North Royalton Police Department is leading the investigation.
