Metroid: Samus Returns Has Been Revealed and It's A Metroid II Remake

All eyes were on Nintendo after the company's E3 Spotlight this morning, waiting for the publisher to demonstrate its upcoming 3DS game, Metroid: Samus Returns.

Fresh off the announcement of Metroid Prime 4 being in development, Nintendo revealed something big during the Nintendo Treehouse live stream.

Golden State one win from title
The only game the 76ers lost in their 1983 championship run was to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Warriors entered the game mindful of what had happened against the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the finals last season.

Given the long wait for a proper return to the series after last year's disappointing Metroid Prime: Federation Force, any news about a new adventure for Samus Aran is more than welcome. For years fans have been clamoring for a new Metroid title, and as other franchises got reboots and sequels, it seemed the iconic action/exploration game had been left behind. The first three games in the series have been widely recognised as classics in the Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii libraries respectively.

Metroid Prime 4 is now in development for Nintendo Switch.

As for Metroid Prime 4, the game similarly had nothing but an announcement that it's now in development. Nintendo says the game will also include a 360-degree free aim mode, melee counters and special energy draining powers. Fans have been demanding Metroid Prime 4 for the better part of a decade, so I'm glad Nintendo finally listened. We don't even know who's developing it. Nintendo revealed more details on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, Xenoblade 2, and Fire Emblem Warriors as well. Meanwhile, watch the announcement trailer below if you haven't done so already.
