Newtown parent won't view NBC interview of Alex Jones

The 19-minute segment aired as scheduled Sunday night.

Megyn Kelly's interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was seen by 3.5 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

Jones has called the school shooting a hoax. Then you would have missed Keith Morrison's freakish travelogue of New Zealand. And that had been a steep slide from the 6.1 million who tuned in for her NBC premiere, when she had interviewed Russian ruler Vladimir Putin.

Senators, vote 'no' to TrumpNoCare Act
They then listed all of the rooms available in Senate Office buildings for them to schedule a health care hearing. During a White House meeting this week, Trump privately told Senate Republicans that the House bill was " mean ".

"Here's the thing, Alex Jones isn't going away", she said Sunday night.

Jones claims that he secretly recorded all of his discussions with Kelly as evidence, suggesting that it's a hedge against amusing business NBC might pull in the editing process of the interview.

Infowars founder Jones leaked exclusive audio of his interview with Kelly prior to the airing of the episode, creating a wave of criticism against both parties.

Putin: New sanctions will 'complicate' Russia-US ties
In an interview, he dismissed the proposed sanctions and said they reflect an internal political struggle in the United States . The president insisted that USA sanctions would not lead Russian Federation into a "deadlock or a collapse".

Unsettling as it may be to have to aired it at all, Kelly's 20-minute segment on Jones and his influence (his fans include President Donald Trump) seemed to have benefited greatly from the pre-criticism and brouhaha that swirled around it last week (one NBC-owned station declined to air it; an advertiser backed out), assuring that Kelly and her producers delivered a tightly edited, firmly reported, no-nonsense story about someone who tells unsafe lies. NBC News Chairman Andy Lack told The Associated Press that the Jones story would be edited with its critics in mind.

Setting the cautionary aspects of dealing with such a personality aside, "Sunday Night" can only be judged by what made it onto the screen, which began with Kelly promising to "confront [Jones] on his notorious lie about the Sandy Hook massacre". He leaked audio of his pre-production discussions with Kelly, hoping to create suspicion that Kelly's real goal for wanting to interview him was to do a hit piece on him.

"I will sit there on the air and look at every position and play devil's advocate", he said. The site has gone mainstream as it has allied itself with President Trump during his presidential campaign. Kelly, who has many miles to go before she finds her footing as a big-time newsmagazine anchor, can and has done worse.

Russia says Trump is using 'Cold War rhetoric' on Cuba
Obama traveled to Havana last March to solidify a detente between the U.S. and Cuba that his administration negotiated in 2014. Trump cast that as a sign the US still wanted to engage with Cuba in hopes of forging "a much stronger and better path".

A parent of one of the children killed in the 2012 CT school shootings says she won't view the Megyn Kelly interview of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones that aired Sunday on NBC.
