Trump, US Navy commission carrier USS Gerald R. Ford

US president Donald Trump has declared that the most advanced aircraft carrier to join the US Navy, the USS Gerald R Ford, will cause America's enemies to "shake with fear" whenever they see it.

"There is no one, absolutely no one, who would be prouder of the commissioning of this mighty ship than the president of the United States, Gerald R. Ford", she said.

The Navy's newest vessel is the lead ship in a new class of aircraft carriers. Compared to Nimitz-class carriers, the Gerald R. Ford-class carriers have more than 23 new or modified systems.

The president, who is commander-in-chief of the USA armed forces, likened the $12.9 billion warship to "an incredible work of art" and boasted about the American labor that went into building a vessel that eventually will house thousands of sailors and crew members.

Don't give police license to kill
Officer Matthew Harrity , the driver, told BCA investigators that "Officer Noor discharged his weapon" from the passenger seat. Plans are in place to enhance the current policy for when they should be on - and covering multiple scenarios, she said.

The warship is the largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the world, and was emblazoned for the event with a banner proclaiming "Made in the U.S.". The carrier was delivered to the Navy in May by Huntington Ingalls Industries - its craftsmanship deemed America at its best by the president.

"This is American craftsmanship at its biggest, at its best, at its finest", Trump said aboard the carrier during his previous visit.

Mr. Trump used the occasion to call on Congress to complete the fiscal 2018 budget that would boost defense spending by about $54 billion, an increase of roughly 10 percent.

"We will win, win, win, never lose".

Police 'ready for any situation' amid huge Muslim protests in Jerusalem
Jordan has repeatedly appealed to Israel to remove the metal detectors and thousands of Jordanians protested in Amman on Friday. The compound, which houses both the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosque, is the third holiest site in Islam.

The one-of-a-kind control system is just one of many state-of-the-art upgrades aboard the $13 billion USS Gerald Ford thatwas commissioned into active duty on July 22 after eight years of construction, development and testing. Her name honors the 38th president of the United States and pays tribute to his lifetime of service in the Navy, in the USA government and to the nation.

A 2016 memo from Michael Gilmore, the Defense Department's director of operational test and evaluation, said the most expensive warship in history continued to struggle launching and recovering aircraft, moving onboard munitions, conducting air traffic control and ship self-defense as recently as a year ago. His daughter, Susan Ford Bales, christened the vessel in 2013.

The ship that bears Ford's name has adopted those words for its official crest.

The Ford completed sea trials in April, but more tests and workups are needed, so it won't be ready for deployment for another four years. The Navy says that will save more than $4 billion over the ship's 50-year lifespan.
