'The View' Adds Meghan McCain as Conservative Co-Host

There's no official word yet, but according to Variety, McCain - daughter of Arizona Senator John McCain - will join the show next month.

Sources told Variety that execs signed Meghan in order to secure a "stronger conservative voice" on the show.

McCain has also left her old job at Fox News where she used to be a contributor. John McCain - was diagnosed with brain cancer, McCain took five weeks off from the show.

McCain's co-host spot was rumored earlier in September, when resident conservative Jedediah Bila abruptly announced her exit from the ABC chatfest.

McCain is the most recent in a trail of co-hosts who have come and gone since Barbara Walters, the show's creator, retired in 2014.

"This has just been an unbelievable journey and I appreciate all of you", Bila said on "The View".

Earlier on Wednesday, the new "View" cast member grabbed some attention online for tweeting a response to reports that president Trump had been mocking her father.

She has considered herself as a Republican with some sort of liberal views on the different social issues.
